OC114.)BRITISH GRENADIER GUARDS COLOR SERGEANT'S UNIFORM: a spectacular, complete uniform, color sergeant of the famed and elite British Grenadier Guards. We cannot praise this uniform enough and should you be interested in buying it please ask for more up-close and detailed photos. Tunic is heavy crimson wool and weighs a ton so to speak. High collar is adorned with gold tresse and piped in white wool down the front panels and on the grenadier cuffs which are decorated with gold tresse, white wool piping and navy blue facings. This uniform is so elaborate and ornate that it's breath-taking. Shoulder straps are detailed with gold tresse and collar on each side have silver bullion wire hand embroidered Grenadier Guards 'flaming bomb' devices. On wearer's right sleeve are gold tresse sergeant's chevrons with gorgeous bullion wire crown above. This crown device is padded and bolstered, gold bullion wire on crimson velvet and absolutely stunning. Silver buttons on this tunic are the QEII type with queen's crown. Two loops on upper chest for General Service Medal. Cuffs and rear are adorned with spectacular grenadier workmanship. This uniform dates circa 1960. Interior of jacket is padded and quilted, lined with red and off-white satin. Has elaborate shoulder sash with 7" long tassels. Trousers are royal blue wool with crimson side stripes. Tall black bearskin hat complete the entire uniform. Bearskin hat is in a great state of preservation. Tunic is about a size 38 (long) and the trousers have a 31" waist. Both tunic and trousers show a few very minor moth bites to wool. Comes with its original burgundy ribbed heavy silk waist belt with burgundy leather backing fabric and brass hook-and-claw release buckle Long tassels at sides. Has Montreal maker's label on the underside of waist belt. Note that many British military items were supplied by Canadian outfitters (note our item OC108, RAF wing made in Canada). EXC++++
