US1008.)WWII US ARMY COLONEL'S RANK INSIGNIA, LUXENBERG MAKER: absolutely spectacular matched pair, WWII era pin-backs. These are 15x40mm dimensions, slightly larger than normal. Slightly vaulted too and show a really handsome art-deco type design of the highest quality, chiseled and sculpted. Breath-taking.  Attractively toned with years of sterling patina, never polished it would appear. Note too that eagle's heads face each other for opposite shoulders. Reverses have horizontal swing pins with roller catch. Marked too with premiere maker 'Luxenberg, Sterling'. Remarkable matched set and very collectible. EXC+++++
