Super-high quality steel shell just like a real one, doesn't flex at all when pressed between the palm. The original smooth LW gray finish is adorned with brush-stroked summer camouflage scheme being various shades of green, tan and brown. Wear to the finish around the rim just like a real one and shows convincing scuffs and scrapes on the surface. Intact LW eagle was painted around and painted too with the green camouflage. Has wire shroud for extra foliage....this wire is now brown with age oxidation and just adds to the convincing nature of this fine helmet. Very, very convincing brown leather liner aged and mildly distressed, dark with age and use. Liner is ink stamped with maker 'Karl Heistler D.R., Berlin C2'. Also ink stamped with both the shell and liner size which is somewhat faded from age. Gray leather chin harness is soft and supple and intact, mild age. EXC++++
