US1119.)WWII US ARMY GLIDER INFANTRY OFFICER'S OVERSEAS CAP: superb workmanship, Miami Beach khaki wool and piped around the flap and down the front pleat with US Army officer's black/gold cord. None finer. On wearer's right side is meticulously hand sewn on glider infantry garrison cap patch. Note too that the glider faces to the viewer's left as is correct for officer ranks. Cap patch is typical US-made, machine embroidered on twill underlay, WWII period cut-edge. Interior of cap has brown leather sweat band, soft and supple. With cloth label inside printed with 'SIZE 7' and '100% WOOL'. No mothing. With 'STERLING' marked 1st lieutenant's silver bar on side, pin-back with roller catch.
