US1003.)WWII US M-1 HELMET LINER, PRISTINE: totally original and not restored. Back in the day these pristine, unissued examples could be found at army/navy surplus stores. OD shade #7 finish on typical composition base. Wear and age here and there to finish from storage aging. A few scuffs here and there. Has its original khaki shade #3 canvas webbing inside, clean. Pigskin leather sweat band is intact and perfect too. No evidence of use. Has maker-marked snap-in neck harness at the rear. Band is dated '1945' at its end. Interior of the crown is wartime contract marked to the CAPAC Manufacturing Company. Has brown leather chin strap -- soft and supple -- snugly fitted over liner's front visor. Never issued and shows light age from its 80+ years. EXC++++
