US1021.)WWII USAAF OFFICER'S CRUSHER CAP: nice example of the 50-mission crusher. Displays a perfect profile and shape. Tailored of a quality khaki wool fabric and with OD brown mohair wool cap band. Smooth russett brown visor and matching leather chin strap fastened at sides with frosted gold American eagle buttons. At front is massive fire-gilded American eagle device, screw-back, and orignal to this cap. Interior has soft and supple, brown leather sweat band, all stitching strong  and intact. With decorative white silk bow at rear seam and cloth size label '6 7/8'. Has that typical brown moisture-proof lining inside. Nice cap showing typical age and wear from the years and from use.
